1 εἰς τὸ τέλος ἐν ὕμνοις ὑπὲρ τῆς ὀγδόης ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυιδ | 1 (To the choir-master. On stringed instruments. Over the octave. A psalm. Of David.) | 1 In finem, in carminibus. Psalmus David. Pro octava. |
2 κύριε μὴ τῷ θυμῷ σου ἐλέγξῃς με μηδὲ τῇ ὀργῇ σου παιδεύσῃς με 3 ἐλέησόν με κύριε ὅτι ἀσθενής εἰμι ἴασαί με κύριε ὅτι ἐταράχθη τὰ ὀστᾶ μου 4 καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη σφόδρα καὶ σύ κύριε ἕως πότε 5 ἐπίστρεψον κύριε ῥῦσαι τὴν ψυχήν μου σῶσόν με ἕνεκεν τοῦ ἐλέους σου 6 ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ ὁ μνημονεύων σου ἐν δὲ τῷ ᾅδῃ τίς ἐξομολογήσεταί σοι 7 ἐκοπίασα ἐν τῷ στεναγμῷ μου λούσω κα{Q'} ἑκάστην νύκτα τὴν κλίνην μου ἐν δάκρυσίν μου τὴν στρωμνήν μου βρέξω 8 ἐταράχθη ἀπὸ θυμοῦ ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἐπαλαιώθην ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐχθροῖς μου 9 ἀπόστητε ἀ{P'} ἐμοῦ πάντες οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν ὅτι εἰσήκουσεν κύριος τῆς φωνῆς τοῦ κλαυθμοῦ μου 10 εἰσήκουσεν κύριος τῆς δεήσεώς μου κύριος τὴν προσευχήν μου προσεδέξατο 11 αἰσχυνθείησαν καὶ ταραχθείησαν σφόδρα πάντες οἱ ἐχθροί μου ἀποστραφείησαν καὶ καταισχυνθείησαν σφόδρα διὰ τάχους | 2 Lord, when thou dost reprove me, let it not be in anger; when thou dost chastise me, let it not be in displeasure. 3 Lord, pity me; I have no strength left; Lord, heal me; my limbs tremble; 4 my spirits are altogether broken; Lord, wilt thou never be content? 5 Lord, turn back, and grant a wretched soul relief; as thou art ever merciful, save me. 6 When death comes, there is no more remembering thee; none can praise thee in the tomb. 7 I am spent with sighing; every night I lie weeping on my bed, till the tears drench my pillow. 8 Grief has dimmed my eyes, faded their lustre now, so many are the adversaries that surround me. 9 Depart from me, all you that traffic in iniquity; the Lord has heard my cry of distress. 10 Here was a prayer divinely heard, a boon divinely granted. 11 All my enemies will be abashed and terrified; taken aback, all in a moment, and put to shame. | 2 Domine, ne in furore tuo arguas me, neque in ira tua corripias me. 3 Miserere mei, Domine, quoniam infirmus sum; sana me, Domine, quoniam conturbata sunt ossa mea. 9 Discedite a me omnes qui operamini iniquitatem, quoniam exaudivit Dominus vocem fletus mei. 10 Exaudivit Dominus deprecationem meam; Dominus orationem meam suscepit. 11 Erubescant, et conturbentur vehementer, omnes inimici mei; convertantur, et erubescant valde velociter. |
